Ms. Roark has been with FLVF since 2014, serving the agency in several facets of our business, as well as giving of her time as one of our valued volunteers. Working as an advocate to empower victims of domestic violence and/or sexual assault, she has helped them re-claim and take back control over their lives using the resources provided through Families Living Violence Free programs.
Caring for and advocating for others is not something new to Peggy. It has in fact involved much of her adult life, working with seniors both in an institutional setting, as well as in-home care services. She also works in her “spare time” with some 4-legged victims. As a founding member of Halifax Dog Squad and serving on the rescue group in Halifax County, Virginia, Peggy helps rescue dogs and puppies, to find permanent adoptive homes or rescue foster homes. She is an avid hockey fan, enjoys Zumba, and supporting the work and activities of our law enforcement community and K9 officers. She enjoys spending time with family and the love of her life, grandson Anthony.
Her vision is to lead the agency in providing the support needed to serve, empower, and give a voice to domestic violence/sexual assault victims. Armed with the knowledge that it requires many disciplines to accomplish what needs to be done in Granville County to “STOP THE VIOLENCE,” FLVF will continue building partnerships with the District Attorney’s Office, Judges, Department of Social Services, Law Enforcement, Juvenile Services, school system, and the faith based community.
